Transition program for Reception students
To make the move from kindergarten to school an enjoyable one, we offer new students the opportunity to visit the school through a structured transition program. These visits occur over three weeks. This provides opportunity for new children to become accustomed to the classroom and playground, and will enable parents to learn more about our school.
There will also be opportunity for students to come and visit the classroom again on the last Thursday prior to the start of the new school year.
The transition visits will be hosted by our Reception teachers, Mrs. Fiona Knott and Mrs. Carolyn Sheehy.
Please call the front office with your child to register.
Thursday November 16, 2017, 8:45am to 10:30am
During this visit parents are invited to stay for an information session over coffee with the principal and the Parents & Friends Committee. Discussion will include starting school, opportunities to be involved in classrooms and the school community. You will also be able to visit the uniform shop, canteen, library and OSHC.
Thursday November 23, 2017, 8:45am to 11:30am
As this visit includes a recess play for your child, please provide a hat, a snack and a drink. You do not need to stay.
Thursday November 30, 2017, 8:45am to 12:00pm
Once you have taken your child to the classroom, you do not need to return until pick up time at 12.00pm. Again, please provide a hat, a snack and a drink.
While it is not expected, some children like to wear school uniform during their transition visits. The uniform shop is open during days of school operation on Monday from 3:00pm to 3:30pm, and Wednesday from 8:45am to 9:15am. Please feel welcome to come into the school and visit the uniform shop at these times.
